ENTREPRENEUR'S CREDO
As I was reading some articles, I stumbled upon something that caught my eyes, an important message for every entrepreneur or any individual about to start a business and having a dream to become successful. A captivating message given out by Thomas Paine centuries back but it still resonates to this moment. It is vitally important for every individual who wants to be successful and have a bright future to remind himself or herself with this message everyday, day in and day out until it becomes a part of you. Life is messy sometimes and we all need motivation and something that we can hold on to so as we can remain focused to reach our targets. Here is the entrepreneurs credo, you can have it printed and attach it on your bedroom wall or office board to remind yourself.
I do not choose to be a common man,
It is my right to be uncommon if I can,
I seek opportunity … not security.
I do not wish to be a kept citizen.
Humbled and dulled by having the State look after me.
I want to take the calculated risk;
To dream and to build.
To fail and to succeed.
I refuse to barter incentive for a dole;
I prefer the challenges of life
To the guaranteed existence;
The thrill of fulfillment
To the stale calm of Utopia.
I will not trade freedom for beneficence
Nor my dignity for a handout
I will never cower before any master
Nor bend to any threat.
It is my heritage to stand erect.
Proud and unafraid;
To think and act for myself,
To enjoy the benefit of my creations
And to face the world boldly and say:
This, with God’s help, I have done
All this is what it means
To be an Entrepreneur.”
We have been given power to accomplish anything in this world for as long we stay focused, confident, relentless and connecting with the people who encourage us and with the same purpose in life, who are hungry for success eventually life will yield to us and get what we want. Remember, you do not have to be great to get started but you need to get started to be great (Les Brown)
