MAINTAIN THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT

An excerpt from the 10th chapter of his book (Release Your potential), the Late Dr. Myles Munroe tells a story

The story is told of the small boy who wanted to play with his pet fish. So he reached into the fish tank, caught the squirming fish and placed it on the floor beside him. The he returned to playing with the cars and trucks that were scattered on the floor around him. As he played, he talked to the fish about everything he was doing until he became so engrossed in his toys that he forgot about the fish. Many minutes later, he remembered the fish and turned toward his pet. The fish no longer moved when he touched it. Frightened, the boy ran to his mother with the fish in his hand.

When his mother saw the fish, she quickly took it and put it the fish tank. The boy watched tearfully as his pet floated on the top of the water. It was dead. When the mother asked her son what had happened to the fish, the boy innocently replied, “Why, we were playing together on the floor when I noticed that he wasn’t moving”

Compassionately, the mother replied, “Honey, didn’t you know that the fish cant live on the floor? God made fish to live in water”

This story illustrates how much God’s creatures depend on the correct environment to live and grow. Even as fish need water to live, so we need the particular environment that God designed for men and women. Too often, however, we are unaware of the impact our environment has on our lives . We flop about like fish on the floor and wonder what’s wrong. 

Ladies and gentlemen, look around or think about the environment that you are in and ask yourself some questions, How does this environment affect me? Does it allow me to discover my potential?Am I growing in this kind of environment? It is important to check the environment that we are in to understand how much our lives are affected. You need to be the best in what you are doing then you need to have the right environment for your growth.

We all need to find the right environment for our growth. Hanging out with negative people, we unconsciously pick their behaviors and start living a life of mediocrity, we become cynical and feel miserable about life. It is necessary that we establish relationships with the right people to help us grow, read books,attend seminars to meet like-minded people and listen to motivational messages everyday to keep you strong. Remember, there is something great that God placed inside of everyone that needs to be delivered on earth. You want to get ahead of life find what it is, that you were brought out here to do.
